HISTORY
This page is the result of a ten year trajectory of studies and research carried out by persons in different cities of Colombia, mainly Bogota and Medellín. A valuable bibliographical organization has been done throughout the years, and specifically in academic work through courses in Analytical Psychology in departments of Psychology. The page has been formed with the experience of its members and enthusiastic contacts with other Jungians groups in Latin American countries, as well as the former contributions from two Webpages: Friends of Jung Colombia in Bogota, and Jung Colombia in Medellín.The Association for the Development of Analytical Psychology in Colombia, ADEPAC, arose from the union of all these professionals and groups initially working in isolation. Its institutional life began at the XVI International Congress for Analytical Psychology, organized by the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), in Barcelona in August of 2004, where Colombia participated for the first time, and thus the event meant not only the establishment of valuable contacts with IAAP officials and members but also with representatives of other Latin American countries who had undergone the process to conform national Developing Groups.
As a result of the international contacts and the internal dynamics of regioanl groups interested in the study and diffusion of Jungian thought, as well as in the training of therapists in Analytical Psychology, Dr Luigi Zoja, IAAP former president visited the country in October 2004. On behalf of his visit a first reunion was organized in Bogota. Shortly after this meeting ADEPAC was constituted and obtained legal recognition by the Chamber of Commerce in March 2005. Finally, ADEPAC received IAAP official recognition as the Colombian Development Group in July 2005.
